TESLA at a Decision Point: $390 Breakout Could Reopen the Road to $445

Tesla is approaching a major technical inflection point after recovering strongly from its July low near $300. Price is now testing the $390 area, where horizontal resistance, a long-term descending trendline and the daily moving average converge. A confirmed break through this zone could unlock a broader recovery toward $445, while another rejection would leave $350 and potentially $300 back in focus.

TSLA Daily Chart Analysis

On the daily chart, Tesla remains beneath a long-term descending trendline drawn from the December 2025 high near $500. This trendline has repeatedly capped recovery attempts and is now converging almost exactly with the $390 resistance area, making the current setup particularly important.

The same zone also overlaps with the 200-period moving average, which has flattened after previously rising. Price is now approaching this average from below, creating a strong cluster of technical resistance around $390.

Tesla has already recovered significantly from the July low near $300, but the advance has repeatedly stalled below $390. Recent price action shows buyers returning after another pullback toward the mid-$350 area, with the latest candles pushing back toward the top of the recent range.

The Williams %R (14) currently stands near -5.92, placing the indicator deep inside overbought territory. This confirms the strength of the latest rebound, but it also suggests that the immediate upside move has become stretched. For that reason, price confirmation above $390 is especially important. Momentum alone is strong, but buyers still need to clear the technical ceiling.

A decisive daily close above $390 would break the descending trendline, reclaim the 200-period moving average and clear horizontal resistance at the same time. Such a move would represent a meaningful change in the broader technical structure.

The next major objective would then be $445, which marks an important former reaction zone and the principal upside target shown on the daily chart.

Failure to break $390 would keep Tesla trapped beneath long-term resistance. In that case, $350 remains the first important support, while a deeper correction could eventually expose the major $300 floor.

Key Levels:

  • $390: Critical resistance combining the descending trendline, horizontal barrier and 200-period moving average.
  • $445: Main bullish target following a confirmed breakout.
  • $350: Key support and first downside objective after rejection.
  • $300: Major higher-timeframe support and the July swing-low region.

TSLA 4-Hour Chart Analysis

The 4-hour chart makes the immediate decision point even clearer.

Tesla has been trading beneath a descending trendline since the May high around $445. Several recovery attempts have failed beneath this line, keeping the sequence of lower highs intact.

Price is now testing the trendline again near $390 after rebounding sharply from the recent $350 support area. The latest bullish candles have carried Tesla directly back toward resistance, placing the stock close to a potential short-term breakout.

Momentum is improving at the same time.

The Awesome Oscillator is currently positive at approximately 7.15 and has recently turned higher after spending time below the zero line. The latest green histogram bars show that bullish momentum is rebuilding as price approaches resistance.

This is an important confirmation, because the current test of $390 is occurring with stronger momentum than during the preceding consolidation. However, the descending trendline has not yet been decisively cleared, so the breakout still requires confirmation from price.

A sustained H4 close above $390 would break the sequence of lower highs and strengthen the case for a larger recovery. With relatively limited major resistance immediately above, the next significant target would be the $445 region.

On the downside, another rejection from $390 would leave $350 as the key support. A confirmed break below $350 would materially weaken the recovery structure and expose the broader $300 support area.

TSLA Breakout Scenarios

Tesla is now testing one of the most important technical areas on both timeframes.

Bullish Scenario: A decisive break and sustained close above $390 would clear the daily descending trendline, reclaim the 200-period moving average and break the H4 resistance structure. The positive Awesome Oscillator supports the current breakout attempt, and confirmation above $390 could open the way toward $445.

Bearish Scenario: If Tesla is rejected from $390, the overbought daily Williams %R would increase the risk of another pullback. In that case, $350 becomes the first downside target. A sustained break below $350 would expose the major support region around $300.

The technical picture is therefore straightforward: bullish momentum is improving, but Tesla is running directly into a major resistance cluster. $390 is the level that will determine whether the rebound develops into a larger trend reversal or remains another failed recovery beneath long-term resistance.

Key path: $390 breakout → $445 | $390 rejection → $350 → $300.
