米半導体株続伸、9月利下げ観測追い風に

米連邦公開市場委員会（FOMC）は7月30､31両日に開催した定例会合で､市場想定通り主要政策金利を8会合連続で5.25－5.5％と据え置くことを決定した。FOMCは、インフレ率は高止まりしているものの、目標の2％に向かって低下し続けており、景気は順調に拡大しているが、雇用市場は減速しており、失業率は若干上昇しているものの、歴史的な低水準にあるとコメントした。 

FRBは、雇用とインフレ目標達成に対するリスクは引き続きより良いバランスへ移行だと考えている。しかし、FRBは十分な確信が持てるまでさらなる行動を取ることはないと考えている。FRBパウエル議長は記者会見で、2024年に向けたいくつかのシナリオについて述べた。インフレ動向が予想通りであれば、9月にも利下げに動く可能性があるとの見解を示した。

7月31日、FOMCの最新政策金利決定に市場が好感し、ハイテクセクターが半導体株を中心に反発したため、主要な米国株価指数は高値で引けた。S&P500指数は前日比+1.58％、ナスダックは+2.63％、NYダウは100ポイント近く（+0.24％）上昇した。 

市場はハイテク株主導で、モルガン・スタンレーがトップピック銘柄に選んだエヌビディアは12.81%急伸した。AMD株は予想を上回る決算を発表し、4.36％上昇した。 

一部の外国企業が米国の中国向け半導体の輸出規制を回避できるというニュースを受けて、ブロードコムは11.96％、クアルコムは8.39％上昇した。しかし、すべてのハイテク株が同じようなパフォーマンスを示したわけではない。マイクロソフトはクラウドの決算が重しとなり、1.08％下落した。
