24日の米国株式市場は大きな打撃を受け、主要3指数はすべて下落した。S＆P500指数は2.31％下落し、ここ1年半で最悪のパフォーマンスとなり、ナスダックも3.62％下落し、ここ約2年で最悪の下げ幅となった。NYダウも504.22ポイント安（-1.25％）下落した。一部ハイテク企業の冴えない決算に失望した売りがけん引し、人工知能に牽引された強気相場の持続可能性を懸念する投資家の心理に重くのしかかった。 

アルファベット（グーグルの親会社）株は、予想を上回るAI技術の研究開発費とYouTubeの広告収入の伸び悩んだことにより5.04％急落した。テスラの株価は、自動車販売による売上高が7％減少し、利益目標が未達となり、自動運転タクシー製品発表の延期を公表したため、12.33％下落した。 

半導体関連株も売りが目立ち、エヌビディア、ブロードコム、ARMは、それぞれ6.80%、7.59%、8.17%下落した。通信会社AT&Tは、携帯加入者の伸びは予想を上回り、5.22％の上昇を記録した。 

金融株では、決済額とトランザクション金額の弱体化を受け、米クレジットカード大手ビザの株価は4.01％下落し、12月以来の安値水準となった。
