米労働統計局（BLS）が木曜日に発表した最新データによると、5月の生産者物価指数（PPI）は前年比で2.2％上昇し、アナリスト予想の2.5％を下回った。注目すべき点は、前回値が2.2％から2.3％へとわずかに上方修正されたことである。前月比では0.2％減と、前月の0.5％増を大幅に下回り、予想の0.1％増も下回った。 

また、変動の大きい食品とエネルギーを除いた5月のコアPPIは前年同月比2.3%上昇し、市場予想の2.4%をわずかに下回った。同様に、前回発表されたコアPPIの数値は、当初の2.4%から2.5%に若干上方修正された。前月比では、コアPPIは0％で横ばいを示し、予想の0.3％増と前回値の0.5％増を下振れした。 

米ドル指数は、前の取引日で0.5％下落した後、木曜日には104.85まで小幅回復した。年内の利下げ回数は1回のみと予測した金利ドットチャートを背景に上昇したが、その強さの一部は、予想を下回るインフレ指標によって相殺された。
